I Ain’t Mad at Ya

Password: friendship

Change is inevitable. Inspired by the 1996 Tupac record “I Ain’t Mad at Cha” and the more recent take on the concept by Rod Wave in 2020, I Ain’t Mad at Ya explores the dynamics of old friends who have grown apart and taken different paths in life. As opposed to the songs, this short film gives a contemporary perspective (involving the impact of social media), centralizes the experiences of young women, and critiques the city of LA. Pulling from my own experience, this short film is my first scripted piece of narrative work and was completed as part of my junior thesis class project.
